I am one of those women who stopped taking birth control after 6 weeks. It was literally making me crazy--like a full hormonal to PMS cycle every 24 hours, cumulating with a panic attack by dinner time. Since that type of side effect wasn't listed on the bottle, it took me weeks to figure out that the two were related. (I had a lot going on at the time.) It also contributed to vaginal atrophy, and I had to go on estrogen therapy briefly to reverse the effects. I do wish that doctors did hormone level testing BEFORE suggesting a particular hormone combo birth control. I have been advised against trying anything hormonal again.
